Fab Friday Faves 9.26.14

Happy Friday darlings!  It has been a crazy, whirlwind, fantastic week with Miranda here visiting.  So I will pretty much leave it at that until I have time to do an actual blog about her time here.  In the meantime, here are my Friday Faves, all from this week of her trip.

1. We stopped in at the "Friends Central Perk" popup cafe on Lafayette on Monday.  So cool.  It is basically an exact replica and we got free coffee and a chance to sit on the actual couch used in the show.

2. Wednesday night, after months of planning and deciding, Miranda and I decided to go get our matching friend tattoos.  We have been friends for 24 years, so I don't think it is going to end anytime soon.  "May we never drift apart".

3. Last Friday, we took Miranda for her birthday surprise, a week early.  We booked a trip for the three of us on a Hornblower Party Cruise.  We got free drinks and food, a live DJ and the most amazing views of the city.  This is Josh and I in front of Lady Liberty.

4. Yesterday after checking out Tiffany, Miranda and I went to Dylan's Candy Bar for a drink... or two.  We got a Jolly Rancher martini, Pop Rocks Martini, Root Beer Floatini and Cotton Candy Martini.  Amazing!

5. Last Saturday we all went to a Game at Yankee Stadium vs the Blue Jays.  It was Miranda's first MLB game and my first Jays game so it was pretty exciting, even though the Yankees lost it was a blast!

NYC Sex and the City x3

Three years ago, when we first lived in New York, Nicole and I found out about an awesome tour for our favorite show, Sex and the City.  Of Course we had to do it.  We had a fantastic time, and when we moved back in May, and my friend Nilma was coming to visit we booked our tickets to do it together as well.  Then, one more time, on Miranda's first day in NYC as her icebreaker.  Each tour was pretty much the same, but a great time and such a lovely way to spend a day with some of my best girlies.  We hit up all the major filming locations and landmarks from both the TV show and the movies.  I have included some of my photos from all three of my tours.  Remember, one of these tours was 3 years ago, so please excuse how young and fresh faced I look, haha.

Our first stop on the tour was the Pleasure Chest where Charlotte buys "the Rabbit" in the show.  We had a chance to wander around and buy some thing fun or a souvenir from the show.

Our bus.

Next was Buddakan.  It is the gorgeous Japanese fusion restaurant where Carrie and Big had their engagement party in the first movie and Big gave her, her "last single girl kiss."

We also had a chance to take a look at a bunch of high end boutiques like Jimmy Choo and Michael Kors.  The tour company also gives you a 20% off coupon for Michael Kors.  Here's Miranda with Jimmy Choo.

After we did some shopping, we headed to Magnolia Bakery, where Carrie and Miranda are eating cupcakes and Carrie spills the beans about her crush on Aiden. Delicious!

The final stop is Scout Bar on Mulberry.  The bar is actually called O'Nieals and is located on Grand St. We got discounted Cosmos and chance to relax and enjoy the gorgeous building.

There are a lot more points of interest on this tour, like Tiffany, the New York Public Library and Aiden's Furniture company but these were the fantastic stops.  If you get a chance, and are a fan like all of us, check it out when you are in NYC!

Fab Friday Faves 9.19.14

Good Friday lovelies!  I'll keep this short and sweet, as Miranda is here!  YAY!  We spent yesterday in the city taking in the sites and going on the Sex and the City tour.  We had a great time, but our feet are a little sore!  Stay tuned for many NYC blogs from while she is here.  In the meantime, these are my Friday Faves from this week.  Enjoy and have an amazing weekend, I know I will!

1.  Nicole and I went glasses shopping this week, and just when I thought i had "the glasses" picked out I stumbled upon these gorgeous Tiffany glasses.  I think they were made for me.  Too bad Lenscrafters isn't covered in our insurance plan and the frames are 500 dollars.... taking donations.

2. I found this day planner at Bed Bath and Beyond the other day, and it is just pretty adorable.  It is made by Orange Circle Studios and they have tons of cute planners and calendars.

3. For Josh's birthday on Monday, we went to a place just down the street called Fire and Oak.  Honestly this was one of the best steaks and also meals we have ever had.  And it was also very reasonably priced for a decently fancy and delicious restaurant.

4.  For the mandatory cat picture of the week, We have Jinx and Smudge.  Jinx has been sleeping in Smudge's spot on the back of the couch the last few days and she finally got sick of it and just crawled up and sat right on him until he moved.  It was pretty hilarious.

5. As I said before, Miranda got in last night, and after we got back from the airport, we ordered pizza from one of me and Josh's favorite places, had champagne and went down to the boardwalk to check out the view and eat the delicious pizza.  Too much fun!

Enrique/ Pitbull Sex and Love Tour

Last Friday, my friend Chrissy and I took a ridiculously expensive cab ride into Newark to one of the best concerts that i have ever been to.  I had been looking forward to seeing Enrique and Pitbull for months because I have been a HUGE fan of both of them for years.  I was ridiculously excited, and I think Chrissy does too.  We also had pretty awesome floor seats which made things even better.  So we grabbed a beer and were ready to enjoy!

The concert opened with the Latino singer J Balvin, who I became a fan of in Peru.  Unfortunately, I was unable to get any decent pictures oh him because his lighting was AWFUL for picture taking, but he put on a great show!

After a short break, and another beer, one of my all time favorite artists and teenaged crushes came out to a roar of the packed stadium.  He sang some of his old classics like Escape and Hero and some of his newer hits as well.  The entire floor section (and I'm sure most of Prudential Center) was dancing and jumping and singing.  Here are some of my beautiful Enrique pics.

After well over an hour of Enrique, there was about a 30 minute break until Pitbull came out.  It was so worth the wait!  You don't realize all the party hits that Pitbull has had over the years until you hear them all back to back.  So much fun!  This time, it actually more the husbands and boyfriends that were going crazy and fist pumping!

And of course, the standard encore...  It was better than I was hoping, and I was really hoping they would come out together... They did and everyone went wild!

After the concert, our adrenaline was running high and we were ready for a good time.  Unfortunately, we got stuck in Newark because we missed the last train.  We walked around Newark and the train station for well over an hour trying to figure out how to get home.  We ended up having to bite the bullet and take another over priced cab.  By the time we got home the guys (who had been out having a good old time in Manhattan) were also home and we were all ready for bed.  We came into this lovely banner that they had constructed.  If you get a chance GO TO THIS CONCERT!  So worth it!  I also have to give a big Happy birthday wish today to my hubby!  We are headed out for a nice dinner so I better get going.  Miranda gets here Wednesday night but I am going to try my best to keep up with my blog.  Have a great week!
