Fab Friday Faves 10.28.16

How is it Friday already?  And the last one of October?  I had a great few days at the house in Florida, busy, but great as usual.  I ended up doing way more yardwork than I had planned but once I started I had to get everything perfect.  I didn't have as much fun as I planned but the yard looks AMAZING!  haha. I did manage to check out my favorite market, the Pierce Street Market on the waterfront in Clearwater and the Dunedin Craft Beer and Crab Festival.  I also got a pedicure, my nails done, a hairdo and a massage so it wasn't all work.  We have no big plans for Halloween yet, looks like Josh will have to work but I am hoping we will figure some thing out.  Everyone have a safe and fun Halloween, and stay tuned for pictures of my thrilled cat, in her costume haha.

1. My new hair!  I love it!  It is sort of a strawberry- reddish ombré to blonde depending on the light I'm in.  It is so nice to have a change and a great hair cut.

2. I have been looking for a shelf for beside the fireplace in my sitting room since we bought the house and had been having a hard time finding the perfect one.  I have been collecting the things for the shelf for just as long, so when I saw this one at my favorite local antique store, Antiques & Uniques in Ozona, I had to have it.  The owner of it didn't want to sell it but luckily his wife convinced him they needed the room and that I should have it.  I took about 11 seconds to get it set up and everything on to it and I love it!

3. When I arrived at Tampa airport on Friday night, I went to Enterprise expecting to get my normal compact car and started joking with the girl giving out the cars about how I would love the red Challenger sitting near the back.  We laughed and she said it would be like 21.99 more a day or something and I said my husband would kill me if I did that.  Anyway, as she was digging through the keys she said that she was going to give me it anyway even that, like, never happens.  The car was literally brand new, never rented out before and had like no miles on it.  Anyway, it was awesome and it was nice to have a fun car to drive for the first time in a few years.

4. When I was in Dunedin for the Craft Beer and Crab Festival, I decided to stop at Strachan's Ice Cream.  I had their carrot cake ice cream a few months and and it was awesome but I decided to try out their birthday cake one this time.  I don't even really like hard ice cream but this was the best ice cream I have ever had.  It has batter in it and sprinkles and tastes better than pretty much any birthday cake ever I think.

5. I called Tee, my nail girl as soon as I got up Saturday, and set up an appointment for the afternoon.  I wanted something Fall-like and had a few ideas off Pinterest.  Anyway, I ended up with these super cute ones, perfect for Autumn in Maryland.

Fab Friday Faves 10.21.16

Happy Friday, Darlings!  Everyone on the east coast, can you believe this heat wave?  If it wasn't for the changing leaves (finally!) I could swear it was July.  I am headed to Florida today, for a short visit to the house, just to do some yard work and start to get things ready for Christmas.  We are getting some company so I don't want to have to do everything at the last minute.  There is a lot going on while I am home too so I'm sure I'll be having some fun too!  It has been another quiet week here in Maryland, Josh has worked everyday for the last couple week so we haven't gotten to do much, but I've been trying to keep busy with Lindsey and the kids and getting out and doing some exploring on my own.  Like I said, I am headed to Florida tho evening so I better get packing!  Everyone have an awesome weekend see you soon!

1. On Monday I took myself on a little road trip to some cool historic sites in our area, mostly on the Maryland Civil War trail.  I went to Rich Hill, one of the places where John Wilkes Boothe hid after he killed Lincoln, it was super creepy out in the middle of nowhere by myself!  I found the patch of thicket where Wilkes-Booth and his accomplice hid for a few days, the oldest continuously active Catholic church parish in the US, this cute church at the Veterans home in Charlotte Hall and the very historic courthouse in Port Tobacco, the site of many events during the Civil War.

2. On my little road trip I also stopped in Charlotte Hall at a cute, and amazing Amish market.  They had more pumpkins, gourds and Mums than I have ever seen, as well as the most delicious looking baking.  I got some buns, and no kidding they are the most amazing things ever.  They also had Amish made cheeses, lots of vegetables, hand made items plus the Amish people remind me of the Hutterites at home!

 4. Saturday morning I had Michaela, Imelda and Nicole over for a little Mary Kay pampering that Nicole and I had both won the previous weekend at a craft fair.  We had some snacks and Sangria and got beautified.  We also had Nicole's birthday party in the evening but I didn't get much for pictures from that besides a few of us doing tequila shots.

4. A couple days ago I got tagged on Instagram by the gal that made Smudge's birthday hat for me.  She made a coloring book of Cats In Hats using photos that her customers had posted on Instagram.  I ordered it right away and got it yesterday.  It is too cute and I can't wait to color it!  Thanks miss Maddy Makes!

5. Josh and I were able to go for a little walk on Sunday after work at Gilbert Run park.  It is absolutely gorgeous right now!

Nashville Girl's Trip Pt. 1

Here I am, I finally stopped being lazy and finished my first Nashville girl's trip blog.  Yay me!  I really should have done it earlier because I already forgot a few things, but go well, you'll get the idea!

We started out on Friday morning with Mimosas, a Tanya and Miranda tradition, but this time there were five of us!

We headed out for breakfast to Biscuit Love in Downtown Nashvillle.... there line was literally down the street so we went across the street to The Pub Nashville.  Breakfast was awesome and the had a Bloody Mary/ Caesar bar!

Lady and the Tramp with Bacon and two Canadian girls.

We took a little walk to start off the day, and found these awesome wings.  I have seen them on TV before but didn't realize how cool, and massive they are.

These Pedal Taverns were everywhere, at all times of day.  I don't really get it...  I don't want to work while I drink.

Our first real Nashville stop was the Country Music Hall of Fame.  A fitting beginning to our trip.

There was memorabilia from all the classics of country music like Johnny, Hank, Dolly and Merle as well as newer acts like Tayor, Zac Brown Band and Blake Shelton.

Nudie Cohn, who designed all the awesome rhinestone outfits as well as cars for everybody in country music had a really cool car adorned with silver dollars and mounted with guns.

One of Merle's awesome outfits.

Hall of records.

Floor to ceiling gold and platinum records.

One of the actual Bandits.

I thought this was really cool.  They had some of the actual original scribblings of classic songs.

This room was massive and all around were the inductees into the Hall of fame.  In the middle there is a circle and if you stand on it and talk it sounds like you are yelling and can be heard all over the room.  Miranda and I spent more time than we needed here haha.

Around the entire room is also written, "Will The Circle Be Unbroken". I tried to get a pano but it was actually pretty difficult.

Acros the street is stye Walk of Fame Park.  It is pretty new and still pretty empty but Johnny and Dolly are there!

We continued exploring downtown and checking out some of the famous landmarks in the city.  And we bought one boots!

We stopped in at Margaritaville, with the intention of being on "the Highway" my favorite Sirius XM station as they broadcast from there every Friday.  Sadly, it was crazy packed, so I just snapped a picture and we went downstairs for a drink.

We didn't actually have time to go into the Johnny Cash Museum but I needed a pic with the sign!

It was time for the Grand Ole Opry!  Miranda and I headed over while the other girls went home to change.  We explored and had a bit to eat and got some souvenirs before it started.

Inside the Opry was different than I had expected.  I don't know what exactly I was expecting but it was just different, but breathtaking and amazing regardless.  The place was packed for a great Friday night show.

This was the schedule for the night we were there.

John Conlee was the host for the first 30 minute set.

Cassadee Pope.

Striking Matches.

Bobby Osbourne and the Rocky Top X-press.

Chris Lane.

Ricky Skaggs.

Lindsay Ell.

Selah.  This was there Opry debut and they brought the house down.

We were lucky enough to have booked a post show backstage tour.  If you ever get the chance to go to the Opry, make sure to do this tour!

Giant Picture of Minnie Pearl on stage.

The mail boxes of all the Opry members.

A view of the dressing rooms.  Certain artists have their own dressing rooms and each one has a theme and it's own set of rules.

The family room, where everyone hangs out before the shows.

Looking out from the stage.

Our group picture on stage.  Miranda even sang a little bit!

Saturday started out at First Tennessee Park for Brewfest a beer festival with tons of breweries and food trucks and activities.  It was crazy hot out but we enjoy ourselves and tried some awesome beer and cider and food.

After a long afternoon we headed back downtown to check out some of the bars and live music.  Our first stop was the Tin Roof for a drink and some snacks.

We spent some time at The Big Bang Piano Bar, with a great view of downtown and some fun music.

We went to a few other bars but our final top was Tequila Cowboy for an awesome band, the Nashville Nobodies and maybe even some mechanical bull riding.

The band even got Miranda on stage and sang her Happy Birthday!

After a very long day, we headed back to our Airbnb for some much needed sleep!  Stay tuned next week for part 2 of our adventures!
