Fab Friday Faves 11.14.14

It seems like this week has been so long, but really just Friday through Tuesday were crazy.   I got to see my cousin Amanda and her boyfriend Christopher on Friday and spend the day with them.  Josh and I were in Philadelphia for the weekend and then I spent Monday and Tuesday with my cousin again.  Tuesday was also the NYC Veteran's Day Parade so I hung out in the city for that as well.  The rest of the week has been spent wandering with Nicole and relaxing!  I just can't catch up!  Everyone have a fantastic weekend and enjoy my Five! (actually six today, but who's counting?)

1. Philadelphia!  I love this city.  It is beautiful and so much to do.  I had to add a lot of pictures from our trip there this last weekend, but nothing copared to the actual blog post I wrote about it!  Check it out here.

2. The NYC Veteran's Day parade.  I hung out in the city for a couple hours to check this out because I had never seen it before.  I cried the whole time!  I have so much respect for our troops and I'm so thankful for the Veteran's in both Canada and the US for everything they have done for us.

3.  While waiting for the parade to start, I stumbled upon a booth with Rashad Jennings from the NY Giants.  We chatted for a bit and I got my picture with him and an autograph.  I'm not a Giants fan, but I do know he is a great player!

Also waiting for the parade to start, I was checking out a Veteran's day flea market just off 5th ave, and there was a booth with these adorable baskets.  I have wanted one for years.  The are made in Senegal, Africa of sweet grass.  Over 10000 women in 92 villages are involved and a large portion of the proceeds goes back to the women that otherwise have no income, as well as to education for the women and their children.  It is a great cause, check them out online Afro Marketplace.

On the weekend while my cousin and her BF were here, I got to be part of their engagement!  The got engaged Sunday night, and on Tuesday morning I had the honor of taking some engagement photos (my next blog) as well as going to Tiffany to pick up the ring they had picked out.  While we were waiting we got some champagne.  Not too shabby for a Tuesday morning!  Congratulations you two, I love you guys!

One of the best sandwiches I have ever had, a real Cheesesteak in Philly at Carmen's in the Reading Terminal Market.  The hour wait was worth it, so amazing!
