*Recipe* Red Wine Brownies with Drunken Cranberries
Facebook caught me again with another recipe I just couldn't resist. Brownies with red wine? Really? Not to mention they have dried cranberries, and I love dried cranberries. I almost never make brownies, because I only like them when they are really dense and heavy and like a million calories, and Josh actually doesn't really care for them at all so I might be on my own in regards to eating them, but it's Christmas right?
These really did turn out delicious, and they are just how I like them, almost more fudgy than brownie like. You can't really taste the red wine but when you bite into one of the cranberries that were soaked in the wine you get a hint of it which is nice. Also, you have to open a bottle of wine and only use like 1/6th of it, so why not finish that bottle up yourself ;)
Did I mention today is National Brownie Day? How can you not honor a national holiday? Enjoy these brownies, and if you are an experimental baker that finds some other fun things to add or change, let me know!
Ingredients
3/4 cup red wine
1/2 cup dried cranberries
1 cup all purpose flour (or whatever flour you use)
1/2 tsp sea salt
1 stick butter
6 oz dark or semi sweet chocolate (or whatever type or combo you want)
3 large eggs
1 1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup unsweetened Cocoa powder
1/2 cup chopped walnuts of other somethings you might find good
Directions

-Mix flour and sea slat in a bowl and set aside.
-In a mixing bowl over boiling water, heat the butter and chocolate until just melted and mix together.
-Remove the bowl from the heat and beast in one egg at a time.
-Add the sugar and cocoa powder and mix, then add the flour and mix well.
-Mix in the red wine and cranberries , Fold in walnuts if using.
-pour mixture in baking pan and bake for 50-55 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
-Allow the brownies to cool for 20-30 minutes and enjoy!
