Happy Memorial Day Friday, Darlings! We are going out to Assateague Island for the weekend. For those not familiar, this is a barrier Island near Ocean City, Maryland where wild horses roam in the summer. We got a new tent and are packing up Smudge and braving the Memorial Weekend traffic in hopes for an awesome weekend. This week again was quiet, Last Friday was a great day but not too much has happened since then. It poured all weekend (again!) so it was quiet, and this week has just been really quite. I had my weekly lunch with Nicole on Wednesday and did the shopping for camping. On a side note about the rain it rained 19/26 days this month here. A new record or something. BUT, the last two days have been smoking' hot, its nice but seriously, from one extreme to the other. Have an awesome Memorial Day weekend to my USA readers, please take a moment to thank a vet, and remember why Memorial Day is all about, and to my Canadian readers, have a good weekend recovering from May Long!
1. last Friday I went with Lindsey, Lily, Ava and Colton to Shlagel Farms, here in Waldorf to go strawberry picking. It is a super cute little farm with huge strawberry fields along with other vegetables, chickens and all the good preserves, farm raised meat and treats that one would expect to find on this type of farm. We all had a great time and I came home with strawberries for days!
2. I went for a walk to the duck pond on Tuesday and found this Eastern Snapping Turtle right by the fence. I think he was trying to escape but this pond is all fenced in. I grew up loving turtles and we don't have any native to our area in Saskatchewan and I never even saw one wild one growing up so they are still a huge novelty to me and this guy was so cute, and huge!
3. Friday night I got the crew free tickets to the Blue Crabs game down the street. a bunch of us went and it was fun to enjoy some baseball, beer and fireworks with our friends.
4. Saturday at the mall I stopped at the Chocolate Moonshine Co. for some yummy truffle sticks. I got champagne, cherry whiskey, birthday cake and coconut and they are all delicious.
5. I got my May Target Box a few days ago and was once again super impressed. I have been wanting to try the new hair Food Dry Shampoo and the Sublime Bronze Towelettes especially, but I can't wait to try everything!

Our House Now
It has been just over 5 months since we moved into our house. I did a little post right when we moved in showing some photos of what the house looked like and the furniture we had just gotten. In these five months, I haven't been able to spend as much time there getting it set up how I want, but we have gotten it more like home and and more personalized.
The outside is pretty much the same, but right now it is covered in flowers and greenery and is so beautiful!
I'm not totally sure what we will call this room... the pool entrance? The fireplace room? The sitting room? We put up a nice new ceiling fan (one not from the 90s), I got a few things on the mantle (it won't be staying like this but its a start), got the whale in front of the fireplace (which is hard to see with this lighting) and the cute "Beach Bound" sign was part of my birthday gift from Nicole. The carpet in here will soon be replaced with a nice light/grey faux hardwood, to make it look more beachy. I am also being super picky about a large larder shelf for the right side of the fire place.
I've posted my collage wall before but this is the whole area. I guess the office under the stairs. I picked up this chair at my favorite antique store. Once I have my shelf in the sitting room some of the clutter will be going on there.
The last photos I posted, I didn't yet have doing room chairs so here they are. I love this set up.
I found these cute salt and pepper shakers at an antique store as well.
I love the buffet as well (it is a very filled wine rack inside)I know i should hand up the canvas from Peru but I actually kinda like it like this!
The whole living/dining room.
The console/tourism table haha. The fish my parents got us has moved here as well.
The living room. The only thing really different from my first photos is my GORGEOUS elephant water color, painted by a local artist.
And I still LOVE my window seat and chaise.
The entry way. Josh and his dad got the coat tree put up for me and it looks so good, except we never need jackets so I am not sure what to hang on it haha! My pallet shelf has now been filled and needs to go up next time I have help at home. We got the entry way bench with a housewarming gift card from Josh's mom and stepdad.
the entryway from outside. Haven't done a ton here, but you can see my starfish in the window and my new welcome sign. I also got a cute little turtle by the bush to greet everyone.
In the last pictures i put up, we didn't yet have the head and footboard for the bed. It made the bed so beautiful. The side tables that were old redone sewing machine cabinets that I found at Antiques and Uniques and they look great too. I need to do something better above the bed, probably a larger canvas in the middle and 2 smaller ones on the side. And I really need a new ceiling fan for here but I can't find one that I love.
I found this cute bamboo chair at a flea market. It will be great for hanging clothes over and such. Apparently I shouldn't sit on it very often haha.
The master bath hasn't changed much, just a little more beachy. I also got this little teak shower bench for the shower, from my neighbours "moving" sale.
The kitchen is the same, and this is a horribly dark photo so you can't tell anyway!
The still empty breakfast nook. I can't wait to get my little table set in here. I also have a really cool pendant light to replace this one with.
Downstairs bathroom.
Spare room # 1. I am only putting this one up here because the other two bedrooms are still pretty much empty. We obviously still need to add some things to this one too.
Upstairs guest bathroom. Someday this one will move out of the 90s.
The stairway. Needs a fresh coat of paint and a larger piece of artwork but it is fine for now. I actually love the stairway for some reason.
I also have big plans for our small laundry room, so stay tuned for those! I did get some cool towel hooks up though.
We still have lots of plans and I will keep everyone updated!

*Recipe* Buffalo Cauliflower Bites
I know this recipe has been floating around like crazy for like a year now, but for some reason I have never got around to trying it. I used a couple "healthier" ingredients, but feel free to use what you have on hand! The dip also goes really well and uses Greek yogurt so can also save you a few calories, but feel free to use blue cheese or ranch too. I did these as a part of "Meatless Monday" and they were a hit. My only complaint was that they took a lot longer to crisp up than my original recipe called for, so just give yourself some extra time!
Ingredients
-1 medium head of cauliflower cut in to bite sized pieces
-3/4 cup coconut flour (you can't taste the coconut in the recipe but any kind of flour can be used)
-3/4 cup water
-2 tsp garlic salt or powder (fresh minced garlic would work as well)
-1 tbsp melted grass fed butter (regular butter or ghee would work too, please don't use margarine!)
-3/4 cup hot sauce (I used regular Franks because thats my favorite but any kind can work)
Directions
-Preheat oven to 450F.
-In a medium bowl combine flour, water, garlic. Whisk together until smooth.
-Toss cauliflower in flour mixture and coat each piece completely, then place battered cauliflower on lightly greased, non stick baking sheet.
-Bake 15 minutes, turning halfway through.
-In the meantime, combine melted butter with hot sauce in a large bowl.
-When Cauliflower is done, remove from baking sheet and gently toss in the hot sauce mixture and coat completely.
-Place cauliflower back on baking sheet and cook 25 minutes or until crispy (mine took almost double that for some reason, just keep an eye on it and flip it every 15 minutes or so).
-Allow to cool for 25 minutes before serving.
For the Dip, I combined 1/2 cup greek yogurt, 1 tbsp lemon juice, 1 tsp garlic salt, and about 2 tbsp fresh chives. Mix and let set for a few minutes.

Fab Friday Faves 5.20.16
Happy Friday darlings! I'm back in Maryland, to the bad weather, but making the most of it, because from what Ive heard, soon it will be miserably hot! I got back on Sunday and had a nice afternoon with Josh in National Harbor... the rest of the week has been quiet! Nicole got a job that started on Monday so I no longer have my partner in crime, but we did have a nice lunch on Wednesday and tonight the whole crew are going to a Blue Crabs Baseball game. The weather is looking rainy for the weekend (surprise!) so I'm not sure of our plans, but hopefully we get a chance to do something! Alright, everyone have a great weekend! Everyone in Canada have an awesome May Long and be safe!
1. I have mentioned this before but I LOVE the Pierce Street Market in Clearwater. Last Saturday was the last one until the Fall (It gets too hot so they have one at an indoor location in St. Pete) so I had to make sure I took it in. Everything at the market is unique and beautiful or totally delicious and the backdrop isn't too bad either. here I have pictured a few things that I got.
2. Smudge loves it when I get home and just constantly harass her :)
3. I mentioned a couple weeks ago how I won an Aroma Wrap from Aroma2Go in an Instagram contest and when I got back from Florida it was waiting for me. I have warmed it up and used it a couple times this week and I love it. So cozy and relaxing and I can use any fragrance that I want in it.
4. At the Pierce Street Market in Clearwater I got some Patty's Peppers. I don't really know how to describe it, but It is so mildly spicy peppers mixed with olive oil, garlic and a few other things that I'm not certain about and it is delicious! I used it for meatless monday this week iced with spaghetti, zoodles, roasted tomatoes, onions and carrots and some parm. So good!
5. Yup, my bath tub at home. I have honestly never been a big bath fan, but something about my tub and the quietness and mood of the bathroom makes me love having one! Especially after a massage or day of yard work.
