Happy Friday all! I have had a great week spending time with Josh's parents touring the city and doing some things that I have never even done before. They left on Wednesday and since then I have been getting back to normal and looking after poor Josh who hurt his back quite badly on Tuesday. I'm not sure what the weekend will bring, as Josh is still quite sore, but we are planning on going out to Long Island for the wedding of one of Josh's former coworker/friend. Hopefully we can make it but regardless I am sure it will be a good weekend! Also, since today is 9/11, I would like to take a moment to remember everyone that lost their lives in NYC 14 years ago. Never Forget. Everyone have a great Friday and an even better weekend!
1. On Tuesday evening Stephanie and I went into Manhattan to check out "Finding Neverland" on Broadway. It is currently Broadway Week and a lot of shows have 2 for 1 ticket offers so what better chance to go, and Stephanie had never been to a NYC Broadway show. I had heard rave reviews about "Finding Neverland," the story of how Peter Pan was created. It stars Mathew Morrison from Glee and several other seasoned Broadway stars so it was pretty much destined to be great. And it was! The story was amazing and every single actor is perfection. We laughed and cried and had an amazing time! It' another show that I would tell everyone to check out.
2. On Sunday we had tickets for the Yankees vs. Rays baseball game at Yankee Stadium because both Steve and Josh are huge fans. I had managed to find some pre game Stadium Tour tickets so we got to the stadium at 9:30 and got to check out the Yankee Museum, Monument Park and watch some of the players warm up from the sidelines. It was pretty epic and I know the guys loved it. The game was also the first one I have ever been to that the Yankees won!
3. On Monday after an awesome bus tour we went to Junior's in Times Square (yes the place that I love that has the world's best cheesecake) for dinner. I got the Rueben Combo with Pastrami, corned beef and sauerkraut. So good! And of course we all brought some cheesecake home!
4. On our walk home from the Broadway, I looked up to notice the Empire State building was lit up in gold, I assume for the U.S Open. I have never seen it like this and I thought it was so pretty!
5. September 4th was "Wear Teal for Ovarian Cancer" Day. As some of you will know this cause is very important to me because as a 22 year old I was diagnosed with Borderline Ovarian Cancer. It really is a silent killer because it has either no symptoms or symptoms that are misdiagnosed as non life threatening conditions. I rocked my teal tank top to help raise awareness for this terrible disease.
