Happy Friday and Happy 149th birthday to my beautiful Motherland, Canada! I love the U.S but will always be a proud Canadian and will always believe it is the best country in the world.
This weekend is also the 4th of July weekend so a very Happy Birthday to my adopted home on Monday! We still have very loose plans for the long weekend, Josh has to work Saturday but we have been trying to find a campground within a three hour drive for the rest of the weekend but we are literally having zero luck. We will try a few places again tomorrow to see if there are any cancellations but if we can't find anything we will just do a day trip Sunday to a few festivities. There is no lack of fun activities and celebrations where we are being the oldest part of the US and so close to the nation's capital. This week has again been pretty quiet, just some errands and such.
Alright, everyone in both of my home countries, have an awesome and safe weekend celebrating our countries birthdays!
1. Saturday, after work, we went out to Romano Vineyard and Winery, about 30 minutes away for their 5 year anniversary celebration. They have amazing wine and had live music, snacks and games for the big day. The location is also pretty sweet! We had a great time enjoying some music and of course the wine!
2. Yesterday, I went with Lindsey and the kids to Cosca Regional Park for a walk and some time on the playground. This is supposed to be one of Southern Maryland's hidden treasures and it is an awesome little park. There are tons of playgrounds, a lake filled with fish and turtles, miles of walking and hiking trails and a really awesome nature center with a ton of animals. We spent a few hours walking and playing and trying to catch bugs!
3. On Wednesday, I scored us tickets to Farm Aid 2016 in Bristow, VA. We were super pumped about the lineup so we had been waiting for tickets to go on sale for a couple weeks now. I grew up watching Farm Aid on TV so it will be really cool to actually be there!
4. On Sunday we went for a drive to Westmoreland State Park and found a great restaurant on the way back called Shady Lane Crab House. We got some yummy seafood and the Key Lime Pie was to die for! Also, Westmoreland State Park is pretty epic with a ton of places to look for fossils and hike and camp.
A few weeks ago when I went to the local Vintage market at Boondoggie Farm, I picked up a pack of these wax melts from the Wish Upon a Candle booth. I finally opened then up to try one yesterday and had forgotten that i get a cute little Alice in Wonderland saying and charm in the pack. How cute is that? Not to mention this one smells AMAZING!

Great post! Farm Aid tickets and key lime pie! The pie looks amazing. I love key lime and it is so hard to find made the traditional meringue way!
